“Woof means Friend”2

Barnaby
Pets love us unconditionally, and as a result, people see themselves in a more loving way - which is something our world needs more of.

Barnaby came into our lives, with only a little tuff of fur on the top of his cute little head, and a heart brimming with unconditional love and joy. Little did we know, he would change our lives forever.

Dogs are rightly called man's best friend. It is a special privilege to have known and loved a pet like this.

Because of his previous owners abuse, Barnaby required emergency surgery the very next morning after we picked him up. It was a long surgery and Barnaby's came home groggy, but happy. This was a sign of what life with Barnaby would be like. Despite countless vet appointments and more surgery, Barnaby never lost his utter joy of being with his Westie brothers, Ben the Bengal cat, and many foster dogs that came through the front door, and especially us, his human parents.

When words are almost empty, tears are most apt. No pet owner wants to see their pet sick, and although Barnaby had so many remaining health issues, from his previous life, there was a part of us, that figured he could handle anything. But that was not the case. Barnaby developed pancreatitis, and it was evident that he was becoming critically ill. Barnaby's blood work results, which we received early the next morning, were not what we were praying for....Barnaby had pancreatic cancer and was in tremendous pain. We couldn't help but think that life was being so unfair to the sweetest boy, who would greet us with a vertical up and down Billy goat dance.

It was obvious that Barnaby had to leave his family that loved him so immensely and who could not even imagine our lives without him. It was Barnaby's time to.cross the Rainbow Bridge. He left us quietly and gently at home, surrounded by all those that loved him.

Dogs come into our lives to teach us about love. They depart our lives to teach us about loss. - Erica Jong

Thank you Barnaby for all your lessons on unconditional love.

Forever Loved. Never Forgotten
