I picked Riley at birth, visited him, and brought him home at 12 weeks old. He was part of a litter from champion show dogs.
I agreed to let the breeder show him ; however, his one eye duct was blocked, and I would have had to agree to surgery to fix it before he could show. At that point, he became my pet.
He was my very special boy. He had westie-tude in spades, always made our lives interesting; and gave me a deep love for the breed. Riley had almost no other health issues for most of his life and was as totally devoted to us as we were to him. Riley grew into the most beautiful and gentle Westie ever.
It was the hardest thing I had ever done when I helped him over the rainbow bridge. Riley was my special guy and will always be my heart dog.
