Success Stories
Westies in Need (WiN) works very hard to match our wonderful dogs with equally wonderful new families. Here are some of our success stories!
Lilly's Story
One of our little rescues was named Lilly - she was the worst case of skin problems we had ever seen when she arrived into our rescue program. The Pet Network saw her info on our website and asked if they could do a story on our Lilly and our rescue. Click here to watch the video of Lilly and her journey...they did a great job and we can't thank the Pet Network enough for supporting us! Lilly says THANKS too!
Chloe...is a such a tiny little thing...only about 6 years old and she really needed us! Chloe was suffering with bladder stones and needed medical help ASAP!!! She came through her spay, a bit of dental work and the bladder surgery with flying colours and is now resting at her foster home!
Welcome Chloe to Westies in Need.
An update...Chloe has found her forever home...she even got a new Westie brother as well, named Floyd!!!
Tyson...is an 11 week old puppy that has come into rescue. Our love and thanks to his family for allowing us to find him a new home. Because Tyson is too little right now to be neutered, his adorable little boy will go out on a very strict foster to adopt neuter agreement!!!
An update...Tyson has found his forever home!!!! He even gets a new sister named Lacey to play with.
Mia is a 6 yr old owner surrender who came into rescue today and is being fostered in Quebec. Mia was stressed with youngsters in her family and needs a wonderful new home with patience, terrier experience and no children.
Not to worry Mia, we will find you a wonderful new home!!!!!
An update...Mia has been adopted!!!! This darling girl has found her forever home!!!
Natasha and Tinkerbelle are 2 little ones who are Mum and daughter. They are such sweet girls and need to have their spays done and then will both be ready for adoption!!! Welcome to our 2 adorable girls!!!
An update...both Natasha and little Tinkerbelle have found new and forever homes!
Cricket is 5 years old and was surrendered into a Vet clinic when her family could not care for her. This little bum got cooked chicken bones lodged in her throat and needed emergency surgery! All is well now and after a day or so of rest and relaxation, Cricket will visit the Vet once again for her spay surgery and then she will be good to go!
An update...Cricket has been adopted!!!! She and Natalie make a perfect pair!
Murphy is 8 years old and is an owner surrender. This darling boy is so cute...there are no words! Walks so well on his leash, housebroken, loves other dogs and is great in the car!!!!
Welcome Murphy to Westies in Need
An update...Murphy has been adopted! He is such a lovely boy and has found a lovely family to match!
Serah is a 10 yr old Westie mix that the Ottawa Humane Society asked if we could help find a new home. This girl has personality plus .. she LOVES people and other dogs. She is up to date on vaccines, has been spayed and had her dental work done. Serah also underwent surgery to have bladder stones removed and will have special needs of a diet appropriate to keep her from developing further stones.
Serah is fostering with a wonderful couple in the Ottawa area and is looking for her forever couch!
An update...Serah has been adopted! She had a long chat with her foster family and asked if she could live with them forever and they said absolutely!!!!
Bella is 11 months old and is an owner surrender. She has some skin issues and will need surgery on her little back left leg to correct a genetic problem, but we promise that we will make sure that she gets all the medical help that she needs and all the love as well! She is such a tiny girl, only 5.2 kg and is very sweet!!!!
An update...The surgery on Bella's leg was a 100% successful and her skin is so nice and pink now. Bella is looking and feeling great...and she has been adopted! Could not have happened to a nicer Westie.
Kenzie is 3 years old and as you can see is a very handsome boy!!! He is an owner surrender and we can not thank his family enough for allowing us to find him a new family. He is a high energy boy and is such a happy soul!!! We feel that he will do best in a quieter home with no other dog or cat as he has a bit of "happy peeing" that he does if he gets too excited.
An update...Kenzie has been adopted. This darling, darling boy will now be the "fur"ever Westie to Marion and her family.
Dollee-Mae is, we think, about 7 years old and as you can see is as pretty as they come! This little girl walks well on her leash and is picking up on her house training very quickly!
An update...Dollee-Mae has been adopted. She asked her foster family if maybe she could stay and live with them forever and they said yes!
Millie... also about 4-5 years old and is such a pretty girl. She is already learning how nice it is to live in a home and to get comfortable on the couch! She is being fostered in Hamilton!
Look at that face...now that is a pretty girl!
An update...Millie has been adopted. She met Gina and her family and she just knew it was her "fur"ever home.
Brody was (we believe) the "Baby Daddy" for all the girls above...however that is all behind him now as he was neutered yesterday! This handsome boy is relaxing after his visit to the Vet and then will be ready to join a family! Brody is being fostered in the Whitby area.
An update...Brody has been adopted! This handsome boy is now in his forever home and is having the time of his life!
Journey is 5 years old and has come to us from Ohio, with her sister Whisper (below). These 2 darling girls are very sweet and after a bit of R and R will be ready for adoption. Journey is being fostered in the Ottawa area and is loving her new foster home.
An update...Journey has been adopted! Could not have happened to a nicer girl!
Whisper is also about 5 years old and is such a darling girl, just like her sister (Journey) that you see above. Whisper has such a kind face and as you can see from the picture, has fit into her foster home and loves to snuggle!
An update...Whisper has been adopted. She has found a wonderful new home with Joan in Ottawa and even got a new Westie brother named Duffy.
Lua is 7 years old and is an owner surrender. She has been diagnosed with Addison's disease. Addison’s disease is a disorder that occurs when the adrenal glands fail to produce enough hormones for normal function. It can be very easy to control and dogs can live a long and full life! This sweet girl is in foster care in the Ottawa area.
An update...Lua has been adopted! She has a wonderful new home and loves her new nick-name "Snuggle-Bug"
Old Blue Eyes...
OK...this one is not really a WiN Westie
... but when we found this old picture of Frank Sinatra with a sweet little Westie, we just knew we had to put it on our website, somewhere!!!
Can you blame us???
