Westies in Need (WiN) works very hard to match our wonderful dogs with equally wonderful new families. Here are some of our success stories!
Lilly's Story
One of our little rescues was named Lilly - she was the worst case of skin problems we had ever seen when she arrived into our rescue program. The Pet Network saw her info on our website and asked if they could do a story on our Lilly and our rescue. Welcome to our little boy Karma! Such a little sweetheart and is so fun-loving! Only 5 months old, he is the brother of our other puppies!
An update...Karma has found his forever home....and he even gets to stay with Kallie, his sister and best friend.
Kallie rounds out our darling puppies that we saved. She and Karma are the best of friends!

Welcome Maise to Westies in Need. This very pretty girl has arrived into rescue and is currently in a "foster to adopt" home.
An update...Maise asked her foster Mom if she could stay and live with her forever and they all agreed it was the perfect fit!
Welcome Duke to Westies in Need. This 5 year old boy needs to be neutered (sorry about that Duke!) and have some dental done and then he will be ready to join a new family.

Welcome to sweet Selma...his 13-week-old pup has been diagnosed with a pretty serious heart murmur. Our love and thanks to the VEC (Veterinary Emergency Clinic) in Toronto for moving heaven and earth to get her in to see the cardiologist on Friday.
A murmur adds an extra sound to a heartbeat and can be serious… but we are pulling out all the stops for Selma…X-rays, an electrocardiogram (ECG) and possibly also an ultrasound (echocardiogram) so we can know exactly what we are dealing with. It is because of all our WiN folks who support our fundraising efforts and your amazing donations that allows us to help this girl!!! It "takes a village" and our WiN village is the BEST.
If Selma is only with us for a short time or hopefully a long time, she will be loved and get the best care…that is our promise. Welcome darling girl to Westies in Need.
An update...Selma's visit to the cardiologist was NOT what we hoped for. She will be off in the next few days to the OVC (Ontario Vet College) to see if she is a candidate for a balloon valvuloplasty that may give her a little more time with us.
It is with the greatest of sadness that we must tell you that our sweet 9 month old rescue, Cosette (previously Selma) passed away at 3:30 this morning. She came into our rescue with a very severe heart murmur, and we did everything we could to save her, but it was not meant to be. She had her appointment last Monday at the OVC in Guelph with the cardiologist and we were all set to schedule her for surgery to repair her heart, but Rainbow Bridge called her home. There are no words……
Welcome to Westies in Need.... our newest arrival 3 year old MeiMei.
Her family had some health issues and made the decision, out of love for her, to surrender MeiMei into our rescue. MeiMei is in foster care at the moment but we are kinda thinking this is where she will stay!!!

An update...MeiMei has found her perfect home! She asked her foster family if she could stay with them and they all thought it was a great idea.
Welcome to our newest girl, Sofie. This 9 month old girl has come into rescue...she needs to see our Vet and be spayed (sorry about that Sofie!) and then we can begin looking through our applications to find her the perfect home.
She is just a little peanut!!

Welcome to 4 year old Tucker, our newest arrival.
As you can see, he is just about as cute as he can be and our love and thanks go out to his family for entrusting us to find him a new home.

Abbey came into rescue with a few things going on that we’ve now got sorted out … she has Addison’s disease and will require medication for the rest of her life.
This sweet little 5 month old arrived into our rescue on a "Freedom Flight" and is now safe with Westies in Need. Welcome Margaret!

This sweeter than sweet boy has come to us an owner surrender. He is just the nicest Westie that anyone could ever dream of. He does have some skin issues that we are working on and then will be up for adoption.
An update...Dingding's new name is Dudley and he is very happy in his forever home! He even got a little brother to play with.
Melanie is just 5 months old and as you can see, a very pretty girl. She was saved from a puppy mill and we are so proud that we can give her an amazing life!

This little darling Skye terrier was released from a puppy mill and we could not be more proud that we helped to get this girl to safety on one of our "freedom flights"
An update...Mary Queen of Scots has found her "fur" ever home!!!
Welcome Wendi to your new life!!!! Wendi was a breeding dog in a kennel but now she has been spayed and is ready to begin her new life on a comfy couch!

This little 2 year old Westie is just about the cutest boy ever! So sweet and loving and so happy that he was released from a puppy mill...we were so happy to bring him into our rescue. Welcome Roscoe!

8 yr old Theo and as you can see ... he's a hot mess with skin issues.Thank you to our wonderful foster Elizabeth for taking this darling boy into her home. He will begin our Itchy Skin Program right away and will be feeling better soon!You're in good hands Theo!
Digby is a 14 year old Westie/mix who sadly found himself at a shelter....our rescue pulled him as fast as we could and he is now safely on a couch!
An update...Digby has found a wonderful home where he can live out his live in love and comfort.
Welcome Paco to Westies in Need! This 9 year old is an owner surrender and after he is neutered and has some dental work, he will be up for adoption.

Findlay comes to us as an owner surrender. He is just 16 months old and, as you can see, as cute as a button.

3 year old Harley comes to us as an owner surrender. As you can see he has some skin issues, but that does not worry us. He will start on our Westies in Need Itchy Skin program right away and we will get him feeling and looking better!

An update...Harley has been adopted! He met his new Dad at our indoor Play Day and it was love at first sight!
